I know English, Ukrainian, and Russian enough to read them, speak them, and write in them. I learned it from living in two countries and going to a church that does services in multiple languages.
So what languages do you know? How did you learn them?

I BELIEVE GEWHER IS GERMAN FOR RIFLE.
I HEARD THAT PISTOLA IS SPANISH FOR PISTOL.
I THINK JAPAN IS NIHONGO IN JAPANESE. I ONCE WAS INTERESTED IN STUDYING JAPANESE BECAUSE I WATCHED SOME JAPANESE ANIMATION.
I THINK IT IS CUSTOMARY IN EUROPEAN LANGUAGES TO USE UPPER AND LOWER CASE LETTERS. I DO NOT KNOW HOW TO TO READ HEBREW OR ARABIC OR JAPANESE BUT I SEE THAT THEY HAVE ONLY ONE CASE FOR ALL THEIR LETTERS.
I LIKE USING JUST CAPS NOW. I READ THAT THE LETTERS IN ENGLISH ORIGINATE FROM GREEK. NOW I WONDER IF GREEK ORIGINALLY USED LOWER CASE LETTERS. I DO NOT KNOW OF ANYONE WRITING IN GREEK OR WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE TODAY.
I AM ONLY FLUENT IN ENGLISH RIGHT NOW.

I speak, read, and write in English and Spanish. I lived and worked there a number of years and taught myself I am not fluent but understand Portuguese and French a bit

That's a lot of languages... Well, Belgium is officially bilingual, so back at school, we learned French as a second language, English as foreign language. I learned German because where I now live in the Netherlands, is close to German border, and visiting Germany I simply wish to be able to make myself understandable...and Afrikaans, well its a form of Dutch, more pricesly Afrikaans is derived from 17th century Dutch with some English and exotic influences. Not difficult for Dutch native speakers to understand..
