I know English, Ukrainian, and Russian enough to read them, speak them, and write in them. I learned it from living in two countries and going to a church that does services in multiple languages.
So what languages do you know? How did you learn them?

I wish I could learn Hebrew. How much do you know? Are you able to do conversations in it a little bit? And... Yo me gusta hablar en espanol tambien No Hebrew conversation. I can only read a little bit of the Old Testament. I don't know any modern words. Yo vivo en El Paso donde mucho jente hablan espanol, entonces tengo opportunidid para practicar. That's still good for Hebrew though. I hear it's a hard language and not used much anymore so even the little you know is very good. I wish it was more common and taught. Ok my attempt to see if I understood you... You said you live somewhere and in that place they speak a lot of Spanish and you used the opportunity to learn it? I used to know it a lot more when I studied it but don't practice too much :(

If Russian and Ukrainian are separate language, then following the same logic I know like 8 different languages They are. But I'm only listing ones I can speak, read, and write in. So I can't include any other slavic languages even if I can understand a little or read a little of them. Hm, lets see. Serbian, Croatian, Bosnian, Montenegrin, Bulgarian, Macedonian, English and Spanish. Yup, that's 8.

I can pick up languages easily. My grandfather knew 5 languages, and was self taught mathematicians, along with a CHAIN SMOKER.

I'm (that idiotic emoticon seems determined to take the place of ' ', and I'm why = emoticon again? let's see) what it means to 'know' a language, but off the top of my head, I'd say I know English way too well for my well-being, can muddle through the main European languages and Latin with a dictionary and day's head start, am living amongst and reading Russian (Tolstoy's Gospel in Brief), and love Homeric Greek and Biblical Hebrew (which really does seem like the tongue of God). If you'd ever like to get into Biblical Hebrew, Elizabeth, I highly recommend the (basically self-taught) Lambdin text. I was muddling through in 10 days with it, and am no linguistic genius to be sure.
