A short historical reference.
Circassians are one of the most ancient peoples of the planet. The indigenous population of the North Caucasus, along with Chechens, Georgians and some Dagestan peoples. The term Circasses is an exonym and in translation from the Iranian language means a thug. The Circassians call themselves the term Adyge - that in translation means noble, aristocrat.
From the middle of the 18th century to the middle of the 19th century, the Circassians waged a devastating and bloody war with the Russian Empire (1763-1864). As a result of which Russia, having lost millions of soldiers, won Circassia. But the Circassians, unwilling to remain under occupation, preferred to leave their homeland. Thus, today about 3-4 million Circassians live outside the historical homeland. While at home, in the Caucasus, no more than 500 thousand. Circassians live in more than 40 countries of the world - Turkey, Jordan, Lebanon, Egypt, Germany, Denmark, France, Holland, USA, Australia, Japan, Argentina. In these countries are the largest diasporas - from 2 million and up to 20 thousand people.

Those are some really old pictures. I wonder how you were able to collect that many.

Accumulated, for a year or two.
It is difficult to determine who is pictured in the photo. As you can see, many of the characters in the photos can not be distinguished from the Cossacks or other Caucasians. Therefore, you have to spend time to determine exactly who is in the photo - the Circassians or someone else. This was the most difficult, because it was necessary to communicate with knowledgeable people, so as not to make a mistake.
